Description

Our Early Childhood Education Units get young children ready for learning with meaningful activities that help them build the skills required to succeed in a classroom, gain self-confidence, and develop a love of learning.

The All About Me, Unit 1 Kit comes with 6 lap-sized (8.5 x 8.5) books about Danny, plus 6 corresponding lesson plans and one 8″ tall Danny the Dog puppet to be used during story times. Through learning all about Danny in the series of books included in the unit, All About Me, Unit 1 helps children explore who they are as students compare what is alike, and what is different, between them and their peers. Classroom discussion about the books provides an opportunity for young students to better understand themselves, build confidence, and develop self-esteem. The lessons culminate in hands-on activities in which students create their own “All About Me” book to share what they learn with classmates and families. Purchasing as a kit is a MRB best value buy. The lap-sized books may also be purchased individually, in a 6-pk (6 copies of one title), or as the unit (1 each of the 6 books). The Danny the Dog puppet may also be purchased as an individual product.

  1. Rated 5 out of 5

I love, love, love the lap books from MaryRuth Books. I read them with my two year old granddaughter and she loves them, too. She’s already pointing out familiar words on the pages when we read together. – Susan from Columbus, OH

  2. I enjoyed All About Danny and the lessons that go along with this set. The text and font were easy for students to read. Students connected and enjoyed Danny. The real artwork was relatable to students. I tend to use books that have a story or lesson about character traits (i.e. kindness, honesty). I would love to see more MaryRuth books with a focus on social/emotional components to incorporate into the Curriculum.
