Leveled Sets and Collections

Practice makes perfect in reading too

Children become good readers by practicing. One of the most important ways to encourage reading is to have a reading library with a variety of leveled books available to early readers.

A leveled reading library consists of books organized by level of difficulty, from easy books for beginners to more complex books for advanced readers. Having a leveled library helps when selecting books for groups of children. The right book for a young reader is one that provides the right amount of both support and challenge for that reader. Read a sample of a nonfiction title and a fiction title before you buy.
